Buyers - If you are buying or just browsing be careful! You may think you want an MGB but by the time you reach the bottom of the page you may be thinking a Wolseley or Jaguar would look good in the garage! Click here to see what you have missed.
Sellers - If you have a British car to sell it should be on this page! Why?
More than 1500 hardcore British car people read this classifieds page every week (you're here aren't you?).
Your car will be exposed to British car enthusiasts who may not realize they are in the market for a car (the infamous Impulse Buyer's Club which I am a proud member myself!). This is a group of people that would never be on one of the big sites hunting your car down.
This last point is even more important if you are selling a unique British car such as a Jensen or TVR. Here it will be exposed to all of the MG and Triumph people who may have never considered buying your type of car, until now...
Lastly, I'm cheap and flexible (insert your own joke here). Cost is only $5 for a text ad and $10 for an ad with a photo. Ads run until sold! 1966 Vanden Plas Princess - Vanden Plas Princess 4LR powered by a 6cyl Rolls Royce. Triumph TR6 - I restored this classic in a British Racing Green
with custom made solid maple dash, red oak accent trim on the inside door
panels, and a unique steering wheel turned from maple. The original speedometer
had registered 32,292 miles and has been driven only 560 miles since restored.
Since the needle was broke, the speedometer was replaced with a used unit and
indicates 64,000 miles. This 72-73 model TR6 with wire wheels and overdrive
remains the preferred Triumph amongst British car enthusiasts. (Manufactured
Date: October 1972, Commission Date: 1973, Commission # CF 1560UO, Engine #
CF1717UE, J Type O/D Transmission)
The restoration included replacement of floor pans and rocker panels. I replace
the paper board transmission cover with the molded plastic part and installed
noise suppression insulation material inside the transmission and the hand break
tunnel. All other sheet metal, including fenders, doors, trunk pan, and hood are
original and rust free. The trunk lid was replaced with one that was better.
Fender mirrors and head light rings were replaced with new parts. The chrome
front and rear bumpers could be restored or replaced although “as is” I won
several awards at local car shows. The convertible top was installed new over
the restored and painted frame. I have the used convertible top boot which is in
good condition. The radio is original and was reinstalled in a restored dash
support over the transmission tunnel. New speakers are mounted each side of the
transmission panels. I have not connected these since I doubted the radio would
be worthwhile listening. The interior and trunk carpet was installed new. The
seats were restored with new cushion material over the original covers. The door
panels were restored using the original cover reinstalled over luan panels. The
engine is strong and runs clean. Oil pressure peaks at 60 psi when started and
settles in at 30 psi when the engine is warm with 10W30 oil in the crankcase.
The engine was pulled with the restoration. It was overhauled with new piston
rings. Valves were ground and seated with new seals. Front and rear main seals
were replaced. Plug wires, battery, belts, hoses, were replaced with new. The
exhaust system including the muffler is stainless steel. Sounds great! Valve and
filter covers are nickel-plated. Everything on the car functions properly
including all lights, switches, levers, controls, etc. The engine runs perfectly
and the transmission shifts smoothly. The overdrive makes it fun to shift on
tight roads. Suspension wear parts were replaced with the restoration. The paint
was done by Kings Restoration, Roanoke Virginia. (one of the best in the state).
Body and panels were painted base coat before assembly. The frame was painted
body-off after wire-brushed and sandblasted. The chassis was primed with a rust
inhibitor before final paint. Extras include a package rack that could be
installed on the trunk lid. I couldn’t see mounting it on the new paint.
Exceptions include the rear deck panel was painted BRG instead of stock black.
No decals! I chose not to spoil the $6,000 paint job. I stripped the chrome from
the knock-offs and polished the brass. They are not perfect but look nice. The
wire wheels are mostly the originals and are the painted style. I never liked
nor mounted redline tires.
You are welcome to all the extra parts, nuts, and bolts left over from the restoration. I have photos of the restoration if you would like to see and have them. I will keep my trophies. The car is available for inspection by calling 540-968-3887. Asking price $18,000. Located in Covington, Virginia. (01/17/12)

Drive this fine car anywhere with confidence-all maintenance records since
purchased in 2005. Garaged since purchase but comes with car cover. Cold AC,
accumulators, memory seat modules, hydraulics, springs, etc. all in excellent
condition. I have maintained this automobile to be driven trouble free on long
trips-has solid oak boot bar (owner installed) and teak cup holders in cabin.
comes with Garmin GPS, single cd/cassette/am/fm (and yes, the clock works!). I
have never had to add oil between changes, never had to add coolant, never had
to add transmission fluid; this car is tight and agile. There is a small hole in
driver's seat but remainder of leather is in excellent condition with a good
patina. Has new headliner and one-of-a-kind custom built aluminum coolant
overflow reservoir to last virtually forever. Front coil springs, upper strut
bushings, lower control arms, sunroof timer/limit switch, front brake rotors and
shocks have been replaced. New sills were installed in 2007. Windows tinted to
NC specifications-NC safety inspection 07/2011. This is not a trailer queen but
a weekly, sometimes daily driver but it still turns heads-trophy winner in
several local car shows. Reluctantly selling due to needed garage space. Located in Wilmington NC. (10/07/11)

Jaguar XK150 DHC - 1959 Jaguar XK150 Drop Head for sale -
Presenting a vehicle of fine Southern Californian provenance - purchased new in
1960 from Hornburg Jaguar of Beverly Hills, this ONE OWNER vehicle has covered
87,862 miles. This vehicle represents the possible acquisition of a quality
daily driver, as numerous simple (reversible) adjustments have been made to

fan and electronic ignition. One most desirable conversion completed was the
replacement of the original automatic transmission with a preferable Jaguar
4-speed manual transmission with Overdrive. Free of accidents, with extensive
local documented service history, although this vehicle's current owner is
retiring (the reason for this sale...), this beauty most certainly ISN'T ready

Jensens for sale
1974
Jensen Interceptor MK III - This is my 1974 Jensen Interceptor MK
III. I have owned the car for 3 years. It is in extremely good condition and
original. I had the body stripped to the metal and repainted with Toyota Avalon
White with slight silver metallic fleck paint just enough to accentuate the
lines. The chrome/stainless steel is all excellent and bright with exception of
passenger door handle which shows slight wear and chrome windshield insert which
was hit by buffer while being painted. All gauges work and read true. Many
repairs over the last 4 years by myself and the previous owner. I am the 6th
owner and have a complete history and feel the mileage is correct.
I had the seats repaired. It originally had the sheepskin centers. I purchased
high quality auto upholstery leather and had both front seat centers and sides
repaired. I left the old on the seat sides and the back sides. The 2 rear seats
were totally redone. Note small crack in leather along outside edge of drivers
sear, see last photograph. I have enough leather to replace any worn spots if
you choose. The car tracks straight and rides exceptionally good. Wiring
diagrams are included. All lights work. All glass is clear and clean. The
windshield shows little to no sign of wear which means it was rarely ever driven
in rain. Front and rear bumpers are almost like new. As for the paint it is only
2 years old and looks great. Again I had the body stripped to metal and all
blemishes removed. At this time there are no dents or damage. I drive the car
regularly and have had no problems other than standard wear. Tires are Pirelli
4000 and in fairly good condition. Only things that need attention are. Drivers
window needs gears in motor. It will go up and down with help. Passenger side
works great. Wood grain on console is cracked and worn. AC is all there and
complete fan blows but needs charging. Power door locks do not work. Fuel door
works some times. I removed the original radio but still have it. I drove the
car to hear the engine not a radio. There is some rust on the inside of the hood
at the very front. It is mostly on the frame. There are several small bubbles on
the top of the hood.
I have over $25,000 invested. Comes with original owners manual, shop manual and
tool kit which is missing some items, also original fire extinguisher. This is
my second Interceptor. My first was a 71 with the 383. I really prefer the 74.
Only reason I am selling is we have moved into a condo and have no space to
store it.
Items I have replaced or had professionally restored: New factory stainless
steel exhaust, New Jensen resonators, New mufflers, Tie rod ends, Master brake
cylinder and booster rebuilt by White Post Restorations, Front sway bar
bushings, Front shocks, Steering rack rebuilt by White Post Restorations, New
radiator fans, New alternator, New front and real brake hoses, New electric fuel
pump, Rebuilt transmission., New electronic distributor with control module,
Edelbrock 750cfm 4bbl., Front upper and lower bushings, upper and lower ball
joints, New valve cover gaskets.
There are other items which I have had done but I cannot think of them at this
time. It is very reliable, drives and runs great. A real eye catcher. I am asking $15,000. Located in
Pinehurst, NC. (11/04/10)

1977
MGB Convertible - I am selling a very nice one owner 1977 MGB.
The Car was originally purchased by an original owner in April 1977 in Reseda,
California. The car survived in California from 1977 until 2007 and moved to
Buckeye, Arizona. While the car was in California, The car was in Reseda from
1977 to 1983 and moved to San Francisco. The car was stored in the garage most
of its life from 1983 to 2007. The owner moved to Buckeye, Arizona in 2007 and
of course she took her baby to Arizona and kept the car in the garage. The car
was transported on a trailer from Arizona to Riverside in the month of March
2011 to sell the car. The owner felt the car belongs in California by the coast.
Now about the condition of the car: The car is in a very nice running condition.
She had the car repainted close to an original red in the year of 2004. The dash
is all original on the right dash shows slight peeling and can see the padding.
The padding can be easily refilled and do a touch up paint. The seats have been
reupholstered and the carpet has been replaced. The engine was rebuilt at
114,464 thousand miles and the car currently shows 129,844 miles. Only 15,380
miles on the rebuilt engine since 12/17/01. Most of the car is mostly original
with some restoration. I have receipts that have been serviced on the car.
I drove the car from Riverside to my house in Toluca Woods to sell the car. The
car drives very well and shifts smoothly. The oil pressure remains at 40 to 50
pounds and water temperature remains cool. The owner had the brakes job done and
replaced the smog pump. The car recently passed smog test in Arizona. It’s a
nice little car to cruise on a beautiful sunny day by the coast. It was very
hard for the owner to let the car go but it’s time for the car to move on to a
new owner who will appreciate the car very much. The car comes with an original
driver’s handbook and is currently registered. I have the paper work ready to
transfer to the new owner. I have many photos of the car and you can click on 2
links to view a short video of the car and engine. Video of car:

1980 MGB-LE - The 1980 MGB Limited Edition was the best MGB ever made. The first Limited’s were shipped into Canada late in 1979. The Limited Edition (Made for the USA) was shipped to the USA in 10/79 (with one fan, rather than two) and for only two months they introduced it with the Champagne interior. The Champagne Interior was discontinued in 2/80 and the manufacture of all MG’s ended in 10/1980. This car was likely made in December of 1979. It was purchased, kept as new and sold to The New York International Auto Museum. The Museum changed names and locations several times prior to finally disposing of all cars and closing it’s doors. This 1980 MGB was on display for the better part of 10 years and thus had virtually no miles on it. Since the Museum was a "live" display, all cars were driven to displays and the cars oil. Lube and fluids were changed and maintained. Original Mileage 3709 , never winter driven, original. If interested please email @ vgobelATmetrotemp.com or call 515-707-3738. Location: West Des Moines, Iowa. Pictures available at http://1980mgb.blogspot.com/. (03/25/07)

Nash Metropolitan - Well that's what it says on the Title but
actually it's a bit of every thing. The car was bought on Ebay Described as a 57
but the body stile says different. The car looks great and runs real strong,
good interior, every thing works (even the air conditioning and radio). When the
car arrived it had its brakes gone through at a cost of $1,500. It sold on Ebay
for $6,500 plus shipping so the previous owner had over $8,500 into it. Now here
is the sad part - the seller did not disclose the fact that it needs metal work
underneath. So the previous owner lost interest in it and now I have it for sale
at a price that gives the new owner the chance to do the work and still have a
great looking car for sensible money. Yours for $3,900. (02/16/10)

had extensive preparation and assemble could begin. A short list of tasks done
include powder coated frame and running gear; body primed and ready for paint;
new tires, tubes , wheels and hubcaps. Glass and stainless trim all in good
condition. This is an opportunity to restore one of these cars without having to
search the world for all the little bits and pieces and no doubt complete a
second car with a little more effort. Not considering splitting up or parting
out as I believe the value lies in having both. Photo is for illustration
purposes only. $12,000 Canadian obo.

Triumph TR3A - Frame off private restoration. Far to many new or
rebuilt items to include here. E-mail or call for details. I can e-mail
information and numerous pictures of the car. I have over 450 hours of my own
time plus over $4,200.00 in an engine rebuild, rebuilt carb, and professional
frame work. I have $20,000.00 invested and will sell the car for
$19,000.00. I did have the directional signals and
horn working fine but I messed up a wiring connection so that has to be
corrected but it is an easy fix. The tranny is a TR4 all syncro. It does leak
oil where the case connects to the extension. I have been driving the car this
summer and have added seal softener. If that does not do the job, the extension
will have to be taken off and a new seal installed. Front suspension is all
updated and a Revington pin and worm gear update kit has been added. I have many good pictures of the car to be
e-mailed. Click here and

1973

1976
Triumph TR6 - I am selling my TR6 that I have owned since 1979. I
am the second owner of the car. The car has about 72,000 original miles and is
Inca yellow with a factory hardtop. The car is an easy 10 foot car, a good
driver or if one wished, very little to do to get into showroom condition. I
have the window sticker that came with the car when new. This car has always
been garaged in the winters and has seldom seen rain. However, there is one
small rust spot in the drivers rear corner above the tail light. Frame is solid.
I have a spare rear end and transmission and a block out a '72 that could go
with the car should someone want the parts. The Strombergs have been replaced
with duel Webers. The original carbs go with the car as well. I have maintained
the car over the years I have had it. The car runs and drives well. It does have
an oil leak here and there but it always has.
THE POSITIVE: New seals in transmission and rear engine seal.
New Laycock clutch at 60,000 miles.
Rear end gone through, new seals and drilled and tapped a drain hole. New
mounts.
New interior. New dash, dash pads, seats, etc.
Brakes good.
New brake and clutch hydraulics.
New wiring harness, factory original.
Michelin redlines.
NEEDS:
Could use a new headliner in hardtop.
Driver door strap.
Price $10,500. Give me a call to discuss this car. I have had the car for 30 years so I can
pretty much answer any questions you may have regarding the history. Call

Bismarck, North Dakota. (05/27/09)

cylinder 3.5 litre engine is a joy to drive. This car is solid with no visible
rot or rust. The paint, interior, bumpers and roof are all in good shape. The

Austin Healey Wanted
- My siblings and I are preparing for our parent's 50th Wedding Anniversary this
Dec 29th in Vidor, Texas. We are still hoping to find an Austin Healey owner
close enough to our area of Southeast Texas that he may be interested in
spending the evening with us and join our celebration. I have recently joined
every Healey club website, online forum, and placed classified ads everywhere I
could imagine. We are still searching. If you, or you know someone who is,
please consider calling me to discuss this possibility. We would love to invite
you to join us, bring a guest, have dinner, and enjoy an exclusive performance.
When our parents met in Lafayette, Indiana and got married, my dad drove a red
1958 Austin Healey. We think it will just add so much to our celebration if we
could have any similar car available , for just a couple hours, for display.
Your car would be so admired, and you be so appreciated. If any sort of club
donation would be needed, please let me know.
Again, if I have already contacted you regarding this request, my apologies.
Unfortunately, we have still not received any calls. I am sorry for the repeated
interruption. We just can't seem to resort to giving up with the final 3 weeks
still ahead. This is very important to us.
I would love to discuss more details of the occasion with anyone interested. If
you can help, lease feel free to call Bruce Block on his personal cell at
409-656-9295 or e-mail brucewblock@aol.com.

Ferrari Mondial - 1982 Ferrari Mondial injected Quattro valve.
This car would make an excellent daily driver it has more room than the GTS but
has the same Ferrari drivability and its just a fun usable car, no evidence of
collision and its had the belts and water pump changed not more than 1000 miles
ago. The car has only done 80 thousand kilometers (around 50,000 miles) from
new. I am not selling it as concourse it is after all 27 years old, but it still
looks great. The car shifts nice, the engine is crisp, in fact the more I drive
it the better it gets; they do need to be driven and that's the beauty of a
Mondial, it has more head room and more storage space. Located in Bigfork, Montana. (01/25/10)

IMPORTANT E-MAIL SCAM ALERT!!!
There is a widespread scam occurring in the world of online classified advertising that you should be aware of. It affects the both the big advertising sites and small niche sites such as this one. It is a con artist's ploy using a ruse story where the con artist tries to get YOU to send him a monetary difference between the item you are selling him and a large money note he (or the friend in the scam story) sends you. Although you are able to deposit the money note, in a week or two your bank will come back to you claiming it was fraudulent. In the meantime, the scammers hope you honor your agreement and send off the overpayment and perhaps whatever you are selling. Bang - YOU have been taken. The story line used changes, and there are many con artists now modeling this ploy - because it is working.
Please be careful - only deal with REAL money - cash, PayPal, checks or bank notes that you verify funds on. Remember, BANK DRAFTS ARE NOT AS GOOD AS CASH. Your bank will release the funds to you usually within 48 hours BUT a fake draft can take up to two weeks or more to come back to the bank - then you are on the hook for whatever amount it was! Always call the issuing bank to confirm the draft AND wait at least two or three weeks for the funds to clear. Remember also that a fake draft may have a fake address and/or phone number. Check with directory assistance to confirm that the name of the bank, address and phone number are legitimate. Also keep in mind that stolen cheque may be declared valid by the bank if the policy holder is not aware of the theft yet. They can still come after you for the funds once they realize there was fraudulent activity in the account.
The best solution is to
use the services of
Escrow.com
- a third party escrow service. I recommend this escrow
service because it is REAL. 90% of online escrow sites are fake! The scammers
will insist on using an
escrow service of their choice which itself turns out to be fraudulent. Fake
escrow sites can also be checked at
www.sos4auctions.com.
A recent (un-edited), example of these con artists in action is below:
"Good day,
I am a business man in Nigeria, i would like to have the auto has i understand
it is for sale(Chevy, Corvette), so then i will be offering you the sum of
$18000.00 for the payment, but if my offer is accepted by you, then i think i
should i will like to see some more pics of it and i also want to let you know
that i intend paying for it with a cashier's check drawn from a US bank due to
the fact that wire transfer these days is not safe for payment,so then i will
kindly wait you,as you reply soon,so we can get on with the transaction
immedaitely.
Thank you very much as i await your reply.
MR PETER LONG. "
The first tip off is the subject line of the E-mail. In many examples the scammers usually just copy and paste your item description directly into the subject line of the E-mail. Second big tip off is in regards to shipping. The scammers almost always offer to take care of arranging shipping themselves. They may also mention paying with a Cashier's Check in the initial E-mail, though some appear to also be using hijacked PayPal accounts. Suspicious E-mails may also use all capital letters, have bad spelling, request more contact or banking info from you, will not be concerned with the condition or price of the car, and will probably claim to be a re-seller or agent for someone else. If any of these things are in an E-mail you receive you have a scammer on your hands! Additionally, if the buyer is claiming he is at sea at the moment and has limited access to the internet, it is a scam. They will most likely be using a free E-mail service as well. Yahoo, Hotmail and USA.com are common ones but there are many more worldwide. If you do not recognize the domain of the E-mail (the part after the @) just copy and paste it into your browser and go check it out. If it is a free service be very wary.
Unfortunately, the scammers are getting better. Here is a recent example I received in regards to an ad on my snowmobile site;
"Hello,
Merry Christmas. I just saw the advert of your snowmobile for sale and decided
to mail you and find out if it is still for sale. I would like to know your last
offering price and a photo if possible. Thanks as I await your reply.
Sincerely,
John Norman"
Tip offs are the fake name (two first names - the scammer can't come up with a good last name), slightly awkward sentences (far to formal for an enquiry regarding a sled), incorrect use of words ("last offering price" - have you ever said that in a sentence?), he's asking for a price and picture even though there are one or both in the ad, the E-mail it is addressed to isn't even your own, and finally, as always, they are using a free E-mail service (sify.com in this case).
Here is another example that is even better. Notice the "odd" wording and spelling mistake that gives it away. It was also sent from a Yahoo account. The doctor thing and phone number contacts make it look much more credible than the normal scam E-mails. However, it is still a scammer!
"Hello,

I believe the request to "delete the ad from the
website" is a new development as of the summer of 2004. There are so many
scammers trying this now they are afraid that, during the scam process, you will
receive similar E-mails from other scammers which will be a tip off that
something is fishy. Having you delete the ad is the only way to prevent this for
them.
UPDATE 2010: There seems to be an increase of scammers posing as someone out a sea in a boat. If your potential buyer is claiming this it is definitely a scam.
I now recommend not running your E-mail address in your ad - just a phone number. Almost all of the scammers rely on E-mail for their initial contact. However, if you've read this far you do have enough info to be able to spot most of the clues in a scammer's E-mail. It is really your choice. A new development appears to be the use of the TTY system (the telephone system for the deaf). If you receive a call regarding your ad from someone using this system there is a good chance they are a scammer typing in their scheme since their English is so bad.
I have even heard of these scammers, from Africa, attempting to buy snow tires for this scam. Please be aware of this fraud and tell everyone you know about it too. The internet is a wonderful tool for bring people and cars together. Lets not let these criminals ruin it for us! Visit Scam Victims United for even more detailed information on this problem.
